This page describes most of our regular activities. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please let us know.
Snack Bar Server
We divide these slots into “veteran” and “rookie” slots, and ask members with experience to take the “veteran” slots. This is simply to ensure that at any time there is at least one person in the snack bar with some experience.
Please note that children are not permitted in the snack bar with parents.
Please try to show up a few minutes before your scheduled start time, to allow for a transition period before the person you are replacing leaves.
Field Setup
We need help to set the fields up on Saturday morning, both before the games start and late in the morning, as we need to reconfigure some of the fields to allow the younger players to play on the larger fields. These are mostly physical activities, and among other things will involve helping to move goals, so you need to be physically capable of lifting. Please don’t put yourself at risk to help with this.
Please meet the Board Member on Duty at the snack bar at the scheduled time, and be sure to sign the sign-in sheet in the snack bar.
Field Reorganization
The youngest divisions play with small pop-up goals, which need to be set up before the games and removed afterwards. This activity involves setting up the goals and then removing them after the games and packing them back into their storage bags.
Grounds Cleanup
Several grounds cleanup sessions are scheduled each weekend. This activity involves walking around the fields to collect any litter and place it in the trash cans, emptying trash cans as needed, checking the bathrooms, and any other cleanup needed. In the final session of the day the trash cans must be brought back to the snack bar area, and the contents moved to the dumpster.
Please meet the Board Member on Duty at the snack bar at the scheduled time, and be sure to sign the sign-in sheet in the snack bar.
Trophy Day/Night Activities
Most of the activities on Trophy Day or Trophy Night should be self explanatory from the brief description.
Picture Night Helper
This is an opportunity for a mid-week activity. We just need a couple of people to help with organizing the teams to keep things flowing smoothly, and any other help that’s needed.
Pre-Season Grounds Preparation
This is a full morning activity, a week or two before opening day, when we get the fields ready for the season. Activities generally include field lining, positioning the goals and making repairs to the nets as required, some field repair, cleanup of the fields and buildings, and setting up the snack bar.
If you can’t make it for the full morning that’s fine – the more help we have, the easier it is for everyone!
Post-Season Grounds Closedown
This usually takes about an hour – it mostly involves moving and securing goals and other equipment. Since the activity does require some lifting, please only volunteer for this if you are in good health and physically fit.
Flyer Distribution
This is a great activity if you have trouble helping at the fields. For information please see the Flyer Distribution page.
